Valentines Day: The biggest pile of mush everrrrr – or a diarised date every year to appreciate the loved ones around you. However you look at it, it’s going to happen whether you like it or not! Those big red hearts plastered over every store window aren’t going anywhere fast…
I’ve been single and in relationships on various Valentines Days over the years, but one thing I noticed on my single ones, was not knowing what to do with myself on February 14th! With every single TV channel screening some lovey-dovey movie, dating programme or something red and covered in hearts, you go to switch on the radio and the “100 Greatest Love Songs” are playing Killing Me Softly, and you find yourself sitting there spoon-deep in Ben & Jerry’s like WOW – I just LOVE being single! It’s been a little while since I recommended a new brunch spot for you to check out, and now I’ve moved into my new flat (..sorry for the radio silence guys!) I thought it was a perfect time to share with you my new local, Minnow. Not only does the food taste AMAZING – but with roses hanging over the entrance and gorgeous winding flowers inside, it really is the picture-perfect brunch destination for all you snap-happy instagrammers! It’s just too cute for words! Continue reading “Brunch spot #2: Minnow”
So as National Vegetarian Week draws to a close, I thought now was a good time to share my experience of when I turned vegetarian for a month.
After reading hundreds of articles and online posts over the years about the health benefits of a vegetarian diet, I decided to give it a go to see what all the fuss was about – and also if I could actually stick to it for a whole month!! Some may think pssshttt what’s she making a deal about, it’s easy peasy! But being half Greek-Cypriot, where meat has always come as pretty standard with every meal in our household, this was definitely a challenge! Continue reading “The month I turned vegetarian…”
Okay so it’s not quite the first day of Christmas, but it’s the 1st December, and however much of a scrooge you are, Christmas-time is just around the corner! Continue reading “On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me… a low-calorie Mulled Wine recipe!”
Intermittent fasting, one of the most highly debated lifestyle choices in the health and fitness industry right now, but what really is all the fuss about? I gave it a go for a week to discover exactly that! Continue reading “The week I tried Intermittent Fasting…”
With the Bank Holiday weekend right around the corner, you’ve probably tried to squeeze in as many plans as you absolutely possibly can, because hey – it’s a WHOLE extra day, why the hell not!? Continue reading “My hot picks this Bank Holiday”
Water, protein powder, shake it up, drink. Water, protein powder, shake it up, drink. Water, protein powder, shake it up, drink… ever get bored of the same old cycle? I keep getting asked what I eat/drink post-workout and my choice of protein powder etc so thought I’d share with you my favourite post-workout routine.
It really depends on what time you choose to do your workout to be honest. If you’re up early in the morning working out before breakfast, it really makes so much more sense to eat a protein-rich breakfast, rather than just downing a protein shake on-the-go. Don’t forget to include some healthy fats too though, they’re not the enemy! Continue reading “Choco banana shakin’”
