Feeling the pinch after Christmas, and dry January hasn’t quite worked out? …don’t I just know it! Food tastes just that bit sweeter and mulled wine is so delicious it gradually replaces your morning coffee… and before you know it you find yourself skipping down the supermarket aisle with a ready-to-assemble gingerbread house and half your body-weight in cheese! Oh the joys of Christmas! Continue reading “Feeling the pinch after Christmas and dry January hasn’t quite worked out…?”
Okay so it’s not quite the first day of Christmas, but it’s the 1st December, and however much of a scrooge you are, Christmas-time is just around the corner! Continue reading “On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me… a low-calorie Mulled Wine recipe!”
Intermittent fasting, one of the most highly debated lifestyle choices in the health and fitness industry right now, but what really is all the fuss about? I gave it a go for a week to discover exactly that! Continue reading “The week I tried Intermittent Fasting…”
With the Bank Holiday weekend right around the corner, you’ve probably tried to squeeze in as many plans as you absolutely possibly can, because hey – it’s a WHOLE extra day, why the hell not!? Continue reading “My hot picks this Bank Holiday”
Water, protein powder, shake it up, drink. Water, protein powder, shake it up, drink. Water, protein powder, shake it up, drink… ever get bored of the same old cycle? I keep getting asked what I eat/drink post-workout and my choice of protein powder etc so thought I’d share with you my favourite post-workout routine.
It really depends on what time you choose to do your workout to be honest. If you’re up early in the morning working out before breakfast, it really makes so much more sense to eat a protein-rich breakfast, rather than just downing a protein shake on-the-go. Don’t forget to include some healthy fats too though, they’re not the enemy! Continue reading “Choco banana shakin’”
Brunch, my absolute favourite meal of the day… ever! Okay so it’s not technically a meal, a bit of breakfast, bit of lunch, jumble it together and there you have it! But it honestly makes my weekends feel complete (even if it is just me making it at home!) Anyway I thought it was about time I shared with you my some of my favourite brunch spots, kicking it off with: No. 1 – Brickwood Coffee & Bread in Tooting market. What? Balance Festival
When? 12 – 14 May 2017
Where? Old Truman Brewery, Shoreditch London
Last weekend Balance Festival opened its’ doors to an ocean of fitness fanatics, health foodies and some really fantastic brands! So, I took one for the team, and dragged myself along… kicking and screaming…. Ha! I’m kidding, I absolutely LOVED it!! But for those of you who couldn’t make it, here’s a little taster of my favourite bits, so you can make sure you don’t miss out next year! Continue reading “Getting that Balance…”
So you’ve most likely finished the last of your easter eggs by now and, like me, back on the health kick to try and detox your body of all those naughties and extra calories you’ve been inhaling in since Easter Sunday… woops! Don’t worry, we’re all feeling it.
With the Bank Holiday weekend now come to an end, I thought today was probably a good time to share with you some of my favourite healthy snacks, so you can stock up and prep for the rest of the week ahead. Continue reading “Snacking made simple (and healthy!)”
Sorry for the break, I know it’s been a little while since I last posted. Life has been a little hectic over Easter, and have just been trying to catch up on it all.
I am still alive, despite falling off the bandwagon a little (…okay a LOT) over the Easter period. Chocolate is my ABSOLUTE weakness – I swear they make it more tasty when it turns egg-shaped (or is that just me?!)
Anyway, you may, like me, feel like you’ve overindulged a bit over the bank holiday and the week to follow – eating your way through a sea of chocolate, but please please please don’t beat yourself up about it! Look, we’re all human, and let’s be honest, it tastes REALLY good!! Continue reading “Forgiving yourself after that Easter binge…”
De-lish! Seriously, when you try these tasty little protein balls, I’m absolutely sure you’ll agree! I was lucky enough to receive The Protein Ball Co‘s full range in the post last week (thank you very much guys!!) and have to say, they really are delicious!
Protein bars, protein cookies and protein shakes have always been the go-to for the typical gym bunny, bodybuilder, athlete or everyday person trying to keep fit or lose a little weight. Then ‘energy balls’ came to our shop counters and before we knew it, these were being stuffed with protein too! Amazing! Another fantastic way to throw in a few (actually more than a few) extra grams of protein into our diet in a cute little ball-shaped snack! Continue reading “Protein Ballin’”
Red really seems to be the colour of the season right now! Everywhere I look, I see RED (and no, I’m not angry haha!) Personally I think red works better as more of an accent colour, some bright red heels can really make your outfit pop, a bold red lip, or perhaps a striking red blazer. A FULL red matching trouser suit however – mmm NOT really my thing… can’t say I’m a massive fan. Even some red matching co-ords/ matching separates are enough to push me over the edge.
I think red is such a strong colour, it can go one of two ways – it can look sharp, sophisticated and classy or… (and this is not in a good way)… WOAH blow-your-head-off red, which is so in-your-face you might just go blind! And to be perfectly honest there’s really not that much in between. Continue reading “A Splash of Red”
