So you’ve got that Valentines date, but what to wear?!

So you’ve managed to bag yourself a Valentines date with the cute guy from the gym… but eeeek! What the F do I wear?! Skirt and top? Dress? Skinny jeans? Heels? No heels?? (Oh gawddd I can’t remember if he’s taller than me – we were both in trainers :S)

Then you realise Valentines day’s on a Tuesday, and you won’t have time to go back home before your date! But worry not! – All you need is a few staple pieces which you can dress down for work, and do up for your date night. Just remember, accessories are key in times like this!

I’ve done a little shopping, and scoured the rails for you guys, to find the perfect day-to-night look for those of you who don’t have the time to do it yourself. So with the weekend right around the corner, you can just speed round the shops and grab yourself that jaw-dropping outfit!

I’ve gone for a statement blazer from Zara. I absolutely LOVE this – it’s such a beautiful cut and can really dress up any look. The other staple I’ve chosen is these gorgeous lace-up peeptoe booties from Aldo (currently in the sale, QUICK – go, go, go!) The heel height may be a little high for some, but there are plenty of options out there with a slightly lower heel if you prefer.

The lace-up peeptoe works great with so many daytime work looks – a sharp trouser suit, a pair of cigarette pants, or even a simple pencil skirt. Today I’ve paired them with these smart jacquard print leggings from Zara, and a soft cream bardot style blouse from Cameo Rose at New Look.

I’ve picked the perfect nude lip to go with this outfit (Kylie Jenner eat your heart out!) I just love these matte lipsticks from Mac, and Velvet Teddy perfectly combines that nude/brown look to add a bit more dimension than your standard nude lip.

Now for a quick sprint to the office toilets to change (I know right!? SO glam!) Lose those leggings and the blouse. Time to get date-ready!

Today I’ve gone for this glitzy black slip dress from Miss Selfridge. This dress features a stunning lace-style back, and is such a flattering cut! For those of you who are off on a dinner date, this ones definitely a little more forgiving (nooone likes to feel the cheesecake bloat in a super tight dress!) Pair this with a choker necklace and a plum lip for more of an evening look.
Chuck on those heels, and off you go!
