Brunch spot #2: Minnow

It’s been a little while since I recommended a new brunch spot for you to check out, and now I’ve moved into my new flat (..sorry for the radio silence guys!)  I thought it was a perfect time to share with you my new local, Minnow. Not only does the food taste AMAZING – but with roses hanging over the entrance and gorgeous winding flowers inside, it really is the picture-perfect brunch destination for all you snap-happy instagrammers! It’s just too cute for words! Continue reading “Brunch spot #2: Minnow”

The month I turned vegetarian…

cucumber-3380690So as National Vegetarian Week draws to a close, I thought now was a good time to share my experience of when I turned vegetarian for a month.

After reading hundreds of articles and online posts over the years about the health benefits of a vegetarian diet, I decided to give it a go to see what all the fuss was about – and also if I could actually stick to it for a whole month!! Some may think pssshttt what’s she making a deal about, it’s easy peasy! But being half Greek-Cypriot, where meat has always come as pretty standard with every meal in our household, this was definitely a challenge! Continue reading “The month I turned vegetarian…”

Choco banana shakin’

Water, protein powder, shake it up, drink. Water, protein powder, shake it up, drink. Water, protein powder, shake it up, drink… ever get bored of the same old cycle? I keep getting asked what I eat/drink post-workout and my choice of protein powder etc so thought I’d share with you my favourite post-workout routine.

It really depends on what time you choose to do your workout to be honest. If you’re up early in the morning working out before breakfast, it really makes so much more sense to eat a protein-rich breakfast, rather than just downing a protein shake on-the-go. Don’t forget to include some healthy fats too though, they’re not the enemy! Continue reading “Choco banana shakin’”

Snacking made simple (and healthy!)

IMG_4136So you’ve most likely finished the last of your easter eggs by now and, like me, back on the health kick to try and detox your body of all those naughties and extra calories you’ve been inhaling in since Easter Sunday… woops! Don’t worry, we’re all feeling it.

With the Bank Holiday weekend now come to an end, I thought today was probably a good time to share with you some of my favourite healthy snacks, so you can stock up and prep for the rest of the week ahead. Continue reading “Snacking made simple (and healthy!)”

Forgiving yourself after that Easter binge…

Hi guys!

Sorry for the break, I know it’s been a little while since I last posted. Life has been a little hectic over Easter, and have just been trying to catch up on it all.

I am still alive, despite falling off the bandwagon a little (…okay a LOT) over the Easter period. Chocolate is my ABSOLUTE weakness – I swear they make it more tasty when it turns egg-shaped (or is that just me?!)

Anyway, you may, like me, feel like you’ve overindulged a bit over the bank holiday and the week to follow – eating your way through a sea of chocolate, but please please please don’t beat yourself up about it! Look, we’re all human, and let’s be honest, it tastes REALLY good!! Continue reading “Forgiving yourself after that Easter binge…”
